My most photographed subject has been the ocean sunfish. These oddballs are common in all temperate and tropical seas. There are presently five recognized species worldwide. The most common in the northeastern Pacific is the Mola mola. I’ve been privileged to work in support of Dr. Tierney Thys’ study of these strange fish. To learn more about them, see oceansunfish.org.
